What Was So Special?

"This is a wedding image: what is it doing in my Family Portrait section? Lynn Palmer Gee and I go waaaay back. Her daughter, Liz, and my daughter, Liz, were best friends growing up. They went to school together; they went to church together; when one laughed, the other laughed; when one hurt, they both hurt. So when Lynn said she would like me to photography her wedding, truly the beginning of a new family, I was thrilled. Alan is from England; Lynn is from the U.S. Their transatlantic romance and courtship is what movies are based on. And when the two cultures combined on this most joyous of days, I was thrilled all over again. Look how happy they are!"
